During the opening conference of ITB Berlin 2026, Angolan Tourism Minister Márcio de Jesus Lopes Daniel emphasized the sector’s strategic importance for the country’s development.
As a partner country for the 60th anniversary edition of the trade fair, Angola aims to strengthen its position in the international debate on the future of tourism. The Minister thanked the organizer, Messe Berlin, and the Berlin authorities, citing Germany’s role as an important partner.
According to the Minister, tourism is crucial for diversifying the economy and building stable sources of income beyond the oil sector. The country’s strategy is based on sustainable development, encompassing economic resilience, social inclusion, and environmental responsibility.
Angola intends to leverage the potential of its young population by developing jobs in the hospitality, cultural, and creative sectors. It places particular emphasis on training, entrepreneurship, and community-based tourism models that increase added value in the regions.
Under the slogan “The Rhythm of Life,” the country promotes its culture, music, natural diversity, and authenticity. The authorities invite investors and international partners to cooperate, hoping for further development of the tourism sector.
