Aviation-Event is in Lima, Peru, to cover the ACI-LAC/World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition 2026 (WAGA 2026), taking place from 25-29 September and bringing together airport leaders and aviation stakeholders from around the world.

Organised jointly by Airports Council International Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) and ACI World, and hosted by Lima Airport, WAGA 2026 provides a global platform for discussions on the issues shaping the future of airports and the wider aviation industry.

Global Airport Priorities in Focus

This year’s gathering comes at a pivotal time for the global airport industry, with airport capacity, investment, regulation, passenger experience, technology and the role of airports within their communities among the key areas of discussion.

ACI World Director General, Justin Erbacci highlighted the priorities shaping the discussions in Lima: „Our Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition is the world’s most important gathering of airport leaders. This year in Lima, we’re bringing the global airport community together to tackle three shifts that will define this industry’s next decade: building the capacity to meet surging passenger demand, pushing governments toward regulation that unlocks that capacity instead of restricting it, and turning airports from infrastructure into genuine hospitality.“

He added: „Our focus in Lima is turning ambition into action. That means building the capacity this industry needs while getting far more out of the infrastructure we already have, making the case for regulation that enables investment rather than blocking it, and reminding this industry that however sophisticated our technology becomes, aviation exists to serve people and communities.“

Lima as a Global Airport Meeting Point

The choice of Lima as the host city places Latin America and the Caribbean at the centre of global airport dialogue at a time when the region continues to develop its aviation infrastructure, connectivity and passenger markets.

For Aviation-Event, WAGA 2026 provides an opportunity to report directly from the gathering and bring the discussions, announcements and perspectives emerging in Lima to its international aviation audience. Aviation-Event is covering the event through editorial reporting, interviews and digital content, connecting its audience with airport leaders, airlines, regulators, technology providers and other aviation stakeholders.

Marcel Riwalsky, Founder & CEO, Aviation-Event: „Lima brings the global airport community together at a moment when the industry is facing fundamental questions about how airports will grow, invest and serve passengers in the years ahead. For Aviation-Event, being here is about bringing those conversations beyond the conference itself – connecting the people, ideas and developments shaping aviation with our international audience. We look forward to sharing the perspectives emerging from Lima and highlighting the people driving the next chapter of the airport industry.“
