Malta is stepping up its efforts to attract more visitors from the United States. The Malta Tourism Authority, through VisitMalta, has launched a major promotional campaign in New York aimed at increasing awareness of the Mediterranean destination among American travelers. The initiative coincides with the introduction of a new nonstop flight operated by Delta Air Lines.

The direct route will connect New York with Malta without the need for transfers, significantly shortening travel time and making the island more accessible for visitors from the U.S. The new service is seen as an important step in strengthening tourism links between Malta and North America.

At the same time, the marketing campaign in New York highlights Malta’s key attractions, including its rich cultural heritage, historic cities, Mediterranean climate, and well-developed tourism infrastructure. Promotional activities include outdoor advertising, digital marketing, and cooperation with travel industry partners.

Malta’s tourism authorities expect that the combination of a direct air connection and strong promotion will increase the number of American visitors, a market that is considered one of the most promising long-haul sources for the country’s tourism sector.
