Azerbaijan is strengthening its presence in the Polish travel market after the number of Polish visitors to the country increased by 13.1% during the first nine months of 2026.
The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) promoted the country during the AVIAREPS Around the World Roadshow Poland 2026, held from 6–8 October in Gdansk, Poznan and Warsaw. The event brought together around 70 tourism professionals from across the three cities.
The roadshow presented Azerbaijan as a year-round destination, with the ATB highlighting cultural heritage, nature, hiking and winter tourism. The programme included destinations such as Baku and Shaki, as well as attractions connected with the Silk Road.
The meetings were intended to create new business links between Azerbaijan and Poland’s travel industry. They also gave Azerbaijani tourism representatives an opportunity to promote experiences beyond the country’s capital, including mountain areas and outdoor activities.
Existing air connectivity is supporting the market. Direct flights between Warsaw and Baku are operated by LOT Polish Airlines, while Polish visitors can apply for an electronic visa through Azerbaijan’s official e-visa system. Standard applications should be submitted at least three working days before arrival, while an urgent service is available with processing reportedly taking three to five hours.
The e-visa allows visitors to stay in Azerbaijan for up to 30 days within a 90-day validity period. The ATB’s announcement did not involve a new flight route or a change to the visa rules, but highlighted existing access as part of the destination’s appeal to Polish travellers.
The latest promotion reflects Azerbaijan’s efforts to develop European source markets and encourage demand for a broader range of tourism products. Winter experiences, hiking and cultural itineraries could help the country attract visitors outside the traditional summer season.
The ATB’s roadshow activity comes as Azerbaijan prepares to promote its tourism offering to further international travel-trade audiences later this month.
