IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement to bring its Garner brand to Uzbekistan for the first time, with a 100-room hotel planned for Tashkent.
Garner Hotel Tashkent is being developed in partnership with Uzbekistan-based Silk Road Inn LLC and is expected to open in September 2027. The property is already under construction on Temiryulchilar Street, according to IHG.
The location is intended to serve several types of demand, with access to Tashkent International Airport, the city centre, major transport infrastructure and commercial districts. IHG said the capital attracts corporate, government, diplomatic, project-related, transit and leisure travellers.
The signing marks the first Garner hotel in Central Asia. It will expand IHG’s existing Tashkent presence, which includes InterContinental Tashkent, voco Tashkent, Crowne Plaza Tashkent and Holiday Inn Tashkent City.
Garner is positioned as a value-focused brand offering quality accommodation at an accessible price. Its standard proposition includes comfortable beds, complimentary Wi-Fi, a welcome drink and snack, fresh bean-to-cup coffee and a 24-hour Garner Shop.
IHG vice-president of development for Europe Willemijn Geels said the project would introduce a “high-quality and affordable” stay option to a market where demand for internationally branded accommodation is growing.
For Silk Road Inn, the agreement represents a further step in the development of the Tashkent project and introduces an international hotel brand to a city that is expanding its role as Uzbekistan’s main business, administrative and transport hub.
The announcement confirms the signing and the planned opening month, but no room rates or reservation opening date have yet been published.
