At ACI Africa 2026 in Luanda, Askin Demir, CEO of Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS), shares how the airport is scaling to meet growing demand.

Since 2017, the airport has reached 2.8 million passengers and is targeting 3 million by year-end — with a long-term ambition to reach up to 10 million passengers.

This growth is backed by a clear development strategy:

  • Investment in IT and operational systems
  • Upgrading equipment and infrastructure
  • Enhancing the overall passenger experience

Looking ahead, the next phase includes a new cargo terminal and terminal expansion, positioning the airport as a stronger hub for both passengers and cargo.

A strong example of how long-term planning and investment are shaping Africa’s aviation future.
